Orlando, FL – October 1, 2022 —

Valencia College’s Office of Technology, Research and Analytics and its Central Florida Ecosystem Education Database (CFEED) team are proud to announce the completion of a transfer student readiness research project.

The “Transfer Student Journey to Success” project identified Valencia College students who are:

• Ready or near ready for their UCF applied program
• Ready for transfer but have yet to apply to UCF

Both insights provide UCF leadership with an actionable list of students who are ready to engage in advisory discussions. The Valencia/UCF “Direct Connect Program” positions advisors to steer students towards programs that will yield both a better transfer experience and better success rate post transfer.  UCF leadership will begin using the research results immediately.

With this project MCG, a Microsoft Data Platform and Data Analytics partner, continues its long history of delivering advanced analytics solutions to its Education clients using Microsoft’s Azure platform.

CFEED exists to create a model of collaborative data sharing among Central Florida pre-kindergarten through university public educational institutions to identify factors that inform decisions and interventions to increase success, outcomes, and opportunities for all students.

With support from Helios Education Foundation, the School District of Osceola County (SDOC), Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), Valencia College (Valencia), and the University of Central Florida (UCF) along with Midtown Consulting Group (MCG) and WestEd are engaged in a collaborative effort to grow organizational capacity and develop hypotheses on student readiness and test those hypothesis using analytics and AI.  The result is actionable analytics that the partners use in improving student outcomes.
