Ellen Bailey, Managing Director
Ellen Bailey directs Midtown Consulting Group’s Health Care practice. She brings over thirty years of business experience much of which has been spent in health services. Prior to joining MCG, Ellen was Chief Operating Officer of Cardiology of Georgia. During her 15 years with the practice, it grew from one office with five physicians to 14 offices with over 30 physicians through the hiring of key physicians and a series of mergers. She recently oversaw the sale of COG to a large hospital system. Currently, Ellen also serves as a Trustee on the Board of Emory University on its finance and audit committees and is helping to launch a billion dollar plus fundraising campaign. She has an EMBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Ellen and her husband Wayne have one daughter and two grandchildren and are actively involved in the Decatur community.
Betty deGolian, Managing Director
Betty deGolian has over 23 years of experience in business process improvement, technology and strategy formulation consulting. She is responsible for MCG's Banking and Financial Services efforts, and has successfully managed projects for more than 12 different banking institutions including several of the world’s largest banks. Prior to joining MCG, Betty was employed by Ernst & Young (formerly E&W) as a consultant in the Financial Services industry focused primarily on strategy formulation, merger and acquisitions projects for system and organizational consolidation for the Finance divisions of two merging entities, profitability reporting system implementations and process improvement engagements. Betty received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Mary Baldwin College. She and her husband, Bill, have three children and are very active in the Atlanta community.
Jeff Elam, Managing Director
Jeff Elam is a Co-Founder of Midtown Consulting Group and runs our Technology Advisement practice. Jeff has an extensive background in all areas of technology consulting with 20 years of experience. He specializes in bridging the gap between business demands and technology execution. In addition, he has experience with all areas of technology optimization including Enterprise Architecture and Program Delivery. Prior to MCG, Jeff led the IT group for a leading Atlanta-based consultancy focused on Enterprise Architecture, EAI, Outsourcing and SDLC Process Improvement. Prior to that, he co-founded and started Five Points Consulting, which developed custom client-server and Java applications for Fortune 500 customers. Five Points was acquired by Tier Technologies, where Jeff led the national Internet practice. Jeff started his career with Sales Technologies in software engineering, QA and support. Jeff served on the Atlanta Electronic Commerce Forum board for 4 years, started the webMethods SE User Group and helped start the Atlanta Java User Group. He is on the board of the Empty Stocking Fund and active with the Boy Scouts of America. Jeff received his Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He lives in Druid Hills with his wife Tricia and three sons.
Bill Falconer, Managing Director
Bill Falconer is a Co-Founder of Midtown Consulting Group and runs our Strategy, Marketing and Operations practice. He is experienced in strategy formulation, operations, marketing and business process improvement. Prior to founding MCG, he was a Vice President with the North Highland Company where he managed the CRM, Strategy and Business Intelligence consulting practice areas for the Atlanta office while serving as the Managing Officer of the Charlotte office. Bill also served as Vice President of Strategic Development for a B2B transportation marketplace. He began his consulting career at Accenture, where he was a Senior Manager in the firm's Strategic Services practice. There, he focused on CRM projects across a wide variety of industries. Prior to attending business school, Bill worked in various capacities for Exxon/Mobil in their US Marketing & Refining division and participated in the initial restructuring of the firm. Bill received a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University. He coaches little league baseball as well as football for the NYO league at Chastain Park and teaches Sunday school at his Church. Additionally, Bill serves as a board member for the Empty Stocking Fund, Buckhead Baseball League and serves on the board of Chastain Horse Park.
David Smith, Managing Director
David Smith has over 15 years of accounting and financial system integration experience. He specializes in the Telecommunications, Utilities and Financial industries. In addition, David has experience in business process improvement, Back Office Accounting Operations, ERP design and implementation as well as Project Management. Prior to joining Midtown Consulting, David led the CFO Services practice for The North Highland Company's DC office. His previous experience also includes work with BellSouth Corporation as well as performing Internal Audits with Geisinger Medical Center. David received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, and is currently a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia. David and his wife Tracy are active in the Atlanta community and busy raising their two sons.
Skeet Spillane, Managing Director
Skeet Spillane has over 19 years of experience in business process improvement, infrastructure and security consulting. He is responsible for MCG's Business Process Improvement and Information Security Practices, and contributes to MCG's Infrastructure Technology Practice. He has worked with many of the largest of the Fortune 50 companies and has significant experience in Healthcare. Prior to joining MCG, Skeet was the CTO for Pillar Technology Partners, LLC and focused on helping large companies solve complex technology issues. Prior to Pillar Technology Partners, LLC, Skeet was a Principal with The North Highland Company and Director of Enterprise Operations Services. He also started and successfully ran North Highland's Tampa Office. Skeet is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Skeet received his undergraduate education from the University of Florida in Electrical Engineering and Florida State University in Sports Nutrition. Skeet is on the Advisory board of SAS70Solutions, LLC. He and his wife and two children are very active in the community.
